4th Annual Showcase

June 15, 2008
Twenty-five Stars Vocal Academy students presented the annual showcase at the Clark County Library Theatre. It was a wonderful theatrical setting, with professional technicians running sound and lights. The Broadway Bound Divas opened and closed the show, with a special performance by "The Baby Divas," 6-9 year-old students, singing "You're Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile." The performers enjoyed a large dressing room and a green room for warm-ups. Every singer did a wonderful job, and the audience was appropriately appreciative.

"Singing On The Lake"

Third Annual Stars Vocal Academy Showcase
May 13, 2007
Twenty-three students performed on the "floating stage" in the beautiful Lake Las Vegas Resort. Two fantastic large group numbers featured all students, two small group performances gave students a chance to demonstrate dancing skills as well, there were two numbers by the outstanding Broadway Bound Divas, guest appearances by professional actors Lisa Christine and Jason Fahey, and solos by each student. The audience was packed by families and tourists as the singers entertained under the lights. A rousing standing ovation topped the evening off!

2009 Competitions

Stars Vocal Academy students participated in three national competitions this year...Spotlight Events on March 21, Creation Dance Championships on April 25, and Starbound Talent on May 30.They garnered many superb awards and represented the studio very well.

Friday Night Fun Sings

Every six to eight weeks there will be a Friday Night Fun Sing when interested students will get together at the studio to perform for each other. It’ll be a great way to get to know other SVA singers, support each other as we tryout new material and prepare for competitions and performances, and get practice singing in front of people. The first FNFS was in October and a second was held in January. Both were a lot of fun, as we enjoyed hearing the songs and eating pizza and cookies.

SVA On The Boards...

There's so much good news! I think I'll go alphabetically.
Anna just closed as Gracie Shinn in MUSIC MAN at UNLV. She is currently at Tuachan Amphitheatre in St. George, UT, playing orphan, Pepper, while understudying the title role in ANNIE.She'll have her own performance in the lead on August 28th. Stars Vocal will be out in force to cheer her on!

Bianca was an adorable Oompa oompa in GVHS's WILLIE WONKA.
Brittany was accepted into LVA as a dance major.
Caitie starred as JoJo in LMCA's SEUSSICAL:THE MUSICAL in April, and Gabbie appeared in the same role for Faith Lutheran High School.
Coleman made it into LVA, joining sister Kyleigh next year. Meanwhile, Kyleigh is playing "Anybodys" in WEST SIDE STORY for Super Summer Theatre.

Faith was cast as the Newsboy (girl?) in WORKING for Super Summer Theatre.
Mary is thrilled to be cast as an orphan in Tuachan's ANNIE this summer, along with her sister.
Victoria had the starring role of "Winefred" in her school's producton of ONCE UPON A MATTRESS.

It makes me so very proud and happy to see my Stars Vocal Academy kids ding so well!

2008 US Olympic Trials for Wrestling and Judo

Stars Vocal Academy had the honor of performing for the Olympic Trials at the Thomas and Mack Center. We did a seven-minute pre-show, followed by the National Anthem. Singers were Anna, Caitie, Faith, Kailey, Kayla, Keegan, Kyleigh, and Ryan. They did an excellent job! AND they got to see Ashton Kutcher.

2009 NBA Summer League

The Divas will perform the National Anthem during opening weekend of the NBA Summer League on July 14th. The game will be televised, so we hope to see them on national television!

Stars Vocal Idols

Anna became the first ever Green Valley Library Idol in a competition in the library’s Sunset Room on Thursday, September 18. She did a wonderful performance of “The Greatest Love Of All.” Congrats, Miss Anna! Coleman made the top 10 in the Miller (Middle School) Idol contest. He sang “The Things We Do For Love,” and did a great job.
