5th Annual Showcase

The Stars Vocal Academy annual showcase took place on May 29th at the Reed Whipple Cultural Center. It was a showcase that didn't want to happen! Originally scheduled for outside at Lake Las Vegas, the early summer sent temperatures soaring to the 100s, and the event was postponed. We were fortunate to be able to schedule at Reed Whipple Cultural Center. The night before the show, Miss Lynda's sound system blew out! With wonderful help from Lauren Paglia, who volunteered her truck and time, the system had a rush repair job and worked perfectly for the showcase. Nineteen students performed, and every singer did a wonderful job. The audience was appropriately appreciative. A cameraman from Fox 5 News did an excellent DVD, which is selling for $20. Summer Mini-Camp

From July 27-31, Miss Lynda will offer a musical theatre summer mini-camp for two groups of students. One group is for kids ages 6-10 years, the other for students 11-15. At the end of the week of study and rehearsals, the two classes will combine to do a performance for family and friends on Friday, July 31. The cost of the camp is $200, with a sibling discount of 2-for-$350. For more information and to sign up for the camps, call 302-7114.

Miss Lisa Update!

Miss Lisa, Jason, and little Ryder have officially moved to St. Louis, Missouri. Jason will be working full time with his father, and Lisa will continue teaching (which she loves) out of their new home. She has a perfect little studio. There’s great regional theatre in St. Louis, and they hope to continue performing there once they get settled.
